Sashiko Gilet in Navy
Lavenham have again partnered with British menswear designer Nicholas Daley to create a capsule that pays homage to roots reggae legend Peter Tosh, and that highlights the synergy between music and martial arts during the 1970’s. Channelling Nicholas’ fascination with Japanese skill and craftmanship, we’ve turned our hands to the traditional Japanese ‘sashiko’ quilting , contrasting heritage and modern fabrics and referencing military and karategi silhouettes worn by Peter Tosh.
Featuring a ribbed collar, the gilet is quilted in ‘sashiko’ pattern traditionally used in Japanese workwear and martial arts styles. Juxtaposing traditional dry wax cotton with a technical nylon from Japan, the gilet is mesh lined, and featuring numerous pockets on the front, a large pocket on the back and a zip fastening.
